'When criticism seems unfair, I believe it helps to remember the hawk. When attacked by crows, it does not counterattack. Instead, the hawk soars higher and higher in ever widening circles until the pests leave it alone.' ~Steve Goodier
We often take criticism personally. Some criticism is unfair and can be a put down. But some criticism can also be for our own good. When someone is critical they often forget to mention the positive and good points as well! What a difference it would make if they did.
Like the hawk we too sometimes need to circle wide of personal attacks when they become bitter and nasty. When we circle wide we are not sucked into a counterattack that drains our energy and confidence. Jesus himself sometimes moved away to a quiet spot. It was not running away but simply put him in a better position on his return to deal with opposition, friction and criticism.
